Got new plans.. any New Years resolutions? It ain’t really as hard as it might seem to “admit it” first and then “quit it” second, or on the more positive side, to “recognize ya need to do it and start.” Please do seek-out some help if you’re in a fix big or small. I think it’s the “admittin’ it” rather than ”others admittin’ it for ya” that’s a bit more challenging. What do you think?
..with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.” ~ Rom. 12:10
Mr. J. B. Phillips put it this way feeling we should have, “a willingness to let the other man have the credit.” Real winners do all they do in love and not for themselves. They roll up their sleeves, fear not, get it done with excellence ..the right way without weird compromising shortcuts.. and don’t really care if they get the credit.
..or even mad. Naww, For God ain’t mad or mean or some downer kinda lad. No, He’s not a Cad, but rather a kind Person that takes ya up instead.
He leads peeps away from the stuff that bums em out and hurts em. Those parts are there to build you up, to nourish, to point ya in the right direction, to comfort, to strengthen, to teach, to warn, to equip and to prepare ya for what’s ahead.
But the glad parts in the Bible are indeed there to make ya glad. They do me. Sure, like when that big gnarly, cold rock in the lonely garden hidin’ a pile of rags got shoved outta the way. How rad. So glad!
“But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.” Lk24/2-3
You have like ..turned for me my mourning into dancing, not into prideful prancing. You have put off my sackcloth of grief, and girded me with gladness.. not sadness; to the end that my glory may sing in joyful praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto You forever. ~ kVs
No room in the Inn. Born poor in Bethlehem.. to later die poor with even His clothes ripped off, but He didn’t stay that way.. I mean all dead in a lonely hole. Jesus came out just like He said. And He can roll away what’s dead about your life as well. That’s what knowin’ Him is all about.
Yes, Christmas is about God’s Gift - His presence in you - not merely someone else’s presents to you.
Shoppin’ til you be droppin’ ain’t the ultimate answer this time of year. Won’t satisfy. Nothin’ wrong with shopping per se - I’ll do some of that, but you know that Christmas can’t deliver on its promise like Christ can.
Hey, the message of the incarnation is “God is with us.” Anything, any place, or anyone that comes short of this will only disappoint you. But God never will.
